“The Most Scenic Drive in America”

A trip that will take you around hairpin turns atop 10,000-foot peaks, the Beartooth Highway has been called “the most scenic drive in America.” This 68-mile stretch is located between Red Lodge and Cooke City, Montana, through Yellowstone National Park. Typically only open mid-May to mid-October, the Montana Department of Transportation teams up with the park every year for an epic snowplowing effort to open the highway each spring — complete with a YouTube channel to stay updated on their progress. Check out this ready-made itinerary to plan your trip.
